KARMA COLLAB HUB
The Karma Collab Hub started out as a passion project between two people driven to provide a local space where small business, creativity and community can thrive.
Karma initially contacted us to create a mural for their new space. After meeting to discuss the mural project, the guys asked us if we could also tackle their logo and branding. We loved the direction and vision that Steve and Candice had for their company, so of course, we said yes!
The brief was to create a brand that felt inclusive and nurturing but wasn't too feminine. The colour palette and hand icons were all things that Karma wanted to be included within the final brand identity.
With the fit-out of the space utilising up-cycled construction materials, we went for a more industrial look with the custom typography of the logotype. We then softened the hard edges of the type with the illustrated hands and light rays. We knew that the team wanted to create a laser cut core-ten steel sign for the outside of the building, so we ensured that the final logo design was able to be stencil cut without any of the elements dropping out. This also added to the industrial look.
For the mural we incorporated their slogan, “Good is sown. Good is collected.” Once again walking the line between creating something welcoming and inclusive without it looking too soft and cuddly. We did this by using the imagery of a person gifting a flower, but with bold lines and shading.
We loved working with Steve and Candice to help bring this passion project into the thriving community it is today.
